A great book that all our book club enjoyed, this was super for our fledgling book club as it provoked real discussion amongst the group on the ‘right to die’ debate. A story with a good sub-plot and interesting characters, there were a lot of relationship issues covered that people could relate too, especially the interesting sibling dynamic running throughout. A clever story line really made you care about the characters, and there were some really nice little ‘set pieces’ where you followed the characters as they went to the races, had a tea party etc. This gave you a real hope for the end of the story, and because of the strong characterisation which made you feel strongly about each person, many people in the group cried their way through the last three chapters. A must-read novel, whichever way you looked at it.
