The Aftermath poses questions on many different levels. How did the British army view the defeated Germans? Did they all behave honourably? Colonel Morgan, a sensitive soldier who likes to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, makes an offer that none of the other officers would have dreamt of. This was a new insight into the post-war period which we knew nothing about, and the story cast a completely unexpected light on the events of those years. It provoked much discussion, even though we all enjoyed it. 9/10
