Melksham Library Book Group, September 2011 Flora was a pragmatic, bossy and determined young woman, who having found herself in strained circumstances, decided that she was going to do the best she could with her little income. Having found relatives that needed taking in hand, they in turn, helped her to pursue her own course in life. Varied comments included: 'Loved the irony will read more of her books; ‘not laugh out loud funny, but funny nonetheless'; 'didn't like it at all'; 'plot a bit far fetched, waste of a months read'; 'good writing, descriptive, great characters' Only a few picked up on the fact that it was set in the future. 6.5/10
